WHAT IS "HONORING THE VISION?"
In the early 1960’s Verna Hall and Rosalie Slater co-founded the Foundation for American Christian Education (FACE). Their goal was to discover and document America’s wonderful heritage of Christian history. They wanted to face down rampant efforts to rewrite history by leaving God and sound principle out of our society and schools. These ladies were pioneers! FACE publications spread across the nation. This revelation of our Christian heritage inspired the founding of hundreds of independent, self-governed organizations, schools, and home-schools. Together they became a movement dedicated to restoring and enhancing American liberty and exceptionalism. A movement that continues today. How significant that their vision, 50 years ago, is so vital in today’s culture! We gather together this fall to honor that vision.
VERNA HALLAt her first awareness of America’s decline and degeneracy, Verna Hall began research that led her to understand that the cause was not economic or political, social, or even moral—but spiritual. Willing to lay down her life and focus entirely on God’s call, she compiled and published, and taught everyone who would listen. This resulted in a still-growing mountain of testimonies of changed lives and ministries spawned to restore Christian character to our nation. From FACE

ROSALIE SLATERFrom the moment she first glimpsed Verna’s big "red book,” God called Rosalie Slater out of a secular doctoral program in education to partner with Verna Hall and teach the answer for the restoration of America. She gleaned from Miss Hall’s rich compilations of early American history the historic method of Biblical education that produced Gospel liberty and Christian civil government.
